About Amber Gates
Amber Gates lives with her husband David, son Jacob and their two dogs in Jamestown N.C. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Amber has a passion for English literature and European history. She is a dedicated Christian and enjoys reading and cooking. Amber first met Elisha at work where the two are night shift data entry workers. Although Amber is a Catholic and Elisha is Protestant we found a passion for Christ and together we were inspired to compile the stories of Innerwoven. It is our belief that the women of Faith we profile on this page are women whose voices have faded away with time, whose stories have become either lost or are commonly overlooked. We believe that we are not alone, that Christian women today are in need of examples of Faith more than ever before. It is our belief that each woman profiled here are part of a greater story. Their stories as women of Faith make up a beautiful tapestry of Faith. This precious tapestry has become faded with time and it is our shared goal to restore this tapestry of faith to it’s original glory. This tapestry serves as a road map on our Pilgrimage journey. Please take a moment to join us on an enlightening journey to visit with, study and learn what these woman can teach us today in our quest to follow Christ.
“God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill His promises, leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself.”

About Elisha Todd
I became a Christian at the age of 9. It's been a LONG strange trip since then and I have failed the Lord more than a few times. But He has NEVER failed me. I am extremely thankful that I came to know Christ as my Savior at such a young age because, being a skeptical person by nature, I'm not sure what my reaction would be now if encountering the Bible for the first time. I can just imagine: "It all began with a naked man and a woman in a Garden. Then a talking snake came up to the woman and tricked her into eating an apple. And that's why everything bad happens." No, thank you! In fact, my first encounter with the Bible came at the age of 7 when my godly Grandmother confronted me with its teachings over a minor sin I had committed. My response? "Who cares what the Bible says?" After Grandma regained her composure (and lectured my parents on bringing up such a godless heathen), I found myself in church the next Sunday learning exactly what the Bible says, why God said it, and what it means for us.
Fast forward more than a few years (in which I managed to obtain a 4-year degree in Education in only 10 years and then a Master's in Education before the next 10) and I find that God has been able to put that skeptical attitude to use by cultivating a thirst for Scriptural knowledge and a love of history. I have been praying my Protestant prayers for the past decade seeking an opportunity to use these interests for God's Glory - and FINALLY He sent Amber Gates, the perfect Catholic counterpart for this calling. With our unique perspectives, experiences in our Christian Faith, and shared love of the magnificent "hidden things of God," we are excited to present our thoughts and insights together through Innerweavings.
